A Couple of Love Songs From the Past

I am always amazed by how at one point in your life a song maybe all important. Then as time passes and new music comes on the scene, songs that meant everything to you just fade.

This might really be true of Love Songs. Consider a couple of songs from my past that I had not even thought about in probably ten years or so.

Not that there is anything wrong with these songs, I really love almost all of Stevie Wonders music, it has just been a long time since I thought this music.





When my wife an I first married we used to call each other all the time, just to say I love you. I still do it sometimes now too.

Stevie Wonder was born on May 13, 1950. He is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer.

According to wikipedia;

A prominent figure in popular music during the latter half of the 20th century, Wonder has recorded more than thirty U.S. top ten hits, won twenty-two Grammy Awards the most ever won by a solo artist in history, and the lifetime achievement. He has also won an Academy Award for Best Song, and been inducted into both the Rock and Roll and Songwriters halls of fame. He has also been awarded the Polar Music Prize.

Blind from birth, Wonder signed with Motown Records at the age of eleven, and continues to perform and record for the label. He has ten U.S. number-one hits on the pop charts as well as 20 R&B number one hits, and album sales totaling more than 100 million units. Wonder has recorded several critically acclaimed albums and hit singles, and writes and produces songs for many of his label mates and outside artists as well. Wonder plays the piano, synthesizer, harmonica, congas, drums, bass guitar, bongos, organ, melodica, and clavinet. In his childhood, he was best known for his harmonica work, but today he is better known for his keyboard skills and vocal ability. Wonder is the first Motown artist and second African American musician to win an Academy Award for Best Original Song for his 1984 hit single "I Just Called to Say I Love You" from the movie The Woman in Red. According to britishhitsongwriters.com he is the eleventh most successful songwriter in U.K. chart history based on weeks that his compositions have spent on the chart.

I really find it difficult to write about Stevie Wonder, if there is one musician who conveys the sound track of my youth and formative years it is Stevie Wonder. His songs are so positive and full of hope and joy that I enter a kind of bliss just listening to his music. And in the limited space of a blog post I could go on and on about him, and how much I love his music.

For the most part it does not matter which one of his albums you pick, I will probably like something off of it. That is why it is so difficult for me to pick any of his stuff to present. When it comes to Stevie Wonder, all I can say is that it is all good.

I have always loved Willie Nelson's album Stardust. It truly is a thing of beauty and it is very romantic as well. Over the years I go through periods where I listen to it none stop, this time of year is a great time to listen to it with your lover.
